We are delighted to announce that we are giving away one free place on our autumn/winter courses in either French or German (starting end of September - date to be confirmed). You are eligible to enter if you are enroled in one of our short 4-week summer courses (details of our summer courses can be found here for French and here for German).

People of the Sea - Photographs by Gilles Perrin



Running from 9 February People of the Sea by Gilles Perrin Hosted by iophotoworks and the Institute of French. 
An encore exhibition of large format, black and white documentary photographs by French photographer, Gilles Perrin which focuses on people working in the maritime industry around Cork County. This is an edited selection of works from the recent exhibition held in Sirius Arts Centre and West Cork Arts Centre.

Cork City Marathon

Cork City Marathon



The city’s marathon is a 26.2-mile course. It is held on 7th June.
The course is closed to traffic and St Patrick's Street will be closed to traffic for the day.

96FM Cork for Kids Radiothon

Cork for Kids Radiothon....




....is back on 96FM! and will take place on the 27th, 28th and 29th May 2010
Donations will help raise funds for sick children. Funds raised will go directly to the children’s ward in the Mercy and CUH to help purchase life saving equipments and improve facilities for every child attending these hospitals for treatment.

Ce nouvel événement culturel aura lieu à Shandon dans le coeur historique de la ville de Cork. Une visite guidée est organisée ce dimanche 16 mai et emmènera locaux et touristes à la découverte de l'église Sainte Anne et du Musée du Beurre.

Inauguration du bateau le “Julia”

Une semaine entière de festivités débute aujourd’hui pour inaugurer la nouvelle route Cork - Swansea.


Fastnet MV Julia - Le bateau du peuple

Ce bateau du peuple, puisque acquis grâce aux bonnes volontés des habitants de West Cork, s’appelle le MV Julia fait 154 mètres de long et peut accueillir jusqu’à 1800 passagers. Le MV Julia est rentré il y a quelques mois dans les chantiers navals de Cork de manière à être rénové. La nouvelle compagnie porte le nom de Fastnet Line, rappelant la course de voiliers du même nom.
